Frequently Asked Questions
1. What services does Trident Energy Solutions offer?
We specialise in the installation, servicing and repair of gas fires, multi-fuel stoves and electric fires. Our team handles everything from the initial survey to final installation, ensuring safe, efficient and stylish heating solutions.
2. Are you certified and insured?
Yes. We are fully registered with the relevant UK safety bodies (for example, we are both Gas Safe and HETAS registered) and carry comprehensive insurance. We take safety and compliance very seriously.
3. Where are you based and what areas do you cover?
We are based in Boldon Colliery, Tyne & Wear, in the North East of England. We serve homeowners throughout the region.
4. How does the process work from survey to installation?
First we carry out a site survey to assess your space, the current hearth or flue (if you have one), and your heating goals.
We then provide you with a recommendation and quote for the best fire or stove solution.
Once you approve, we schedule and carry out the installation, including any required flue lining, ventilation, safety checks and commissioning.
Finally we provide you with a hand-over including how to operate and maintain the equipment safely.
5. What types of fuel and fires do you install?
We install:
Gas fires
Multi-fuel stoves (wood, coal or mixed fuel)
Electric fires
We’ll advise you on the best option for your room size, flue condition and heating needs.
6. Do you offer service and maintenance?
Yes — we provide servicing, maintenance and repair work to keep your fire or stove operating safely and efficiently. This helps maintain performance, reduce risk and extend the life of your equipment.
7. What should I check before installation?
Ensure you have a suitable flue or chimney (or conditions to install one safely).
Make sure the hearth is suitable (level, safe distance to combustibles).
Confirm adequate ventilation if required.
Clear any existing equipment and debris from the area.
Discuss with us any aesthetic preferences (style of fire, surround, finish) during the survey stage.
8. How long does installation take?
Installation times vary depending on the complexity of the job (for example, whether a new flue liner is needed, or whether it's a straight replacement). During the survey we’ll give you a realistic timescale for your project.
9. What are the ongoing costs and what should I expect?
Fuel costs will depend on your chosen fuel type (wood, multi-fuel, gas, electricity).
Maintenance costs: regular servicing will reduce unexpected repair bills.
Efficiency: choosing an appropriately sized fire/stove and ensuring it’s well installed will lower fuel use and give better performance.
10. How can I contact you, and what is the next step if I’m interested?
You can contact us via the “Contact” page of our website, or call us to arrange a survey. We’ll set up a convenient time, discuss your requirements, and produce a no-obligation quote.
11. Do you offer guarantees or warranties on installations?
Yes – we will cover our workmanship with a guarantee and we install reputable appliances that have manufacturer warranties. At the survey stage we’ll clarify exactly what the guarantee covers and how to register the appliance warranty if required.
12. What happens if I have an existing fire/stove that isn’t working properly?
We can evaluate your current system, identify what the issue is (e.g., flue blockage, worn components, inefficient fuel use, safety concerns) and advise whether repair, servicing or full replacement is the best option.
13. Are there any regulations I should be aware of?
Yes, UK regulations apply to fire and stove installations, especially in terms of safety (e.g., flue performance, ventilation, clearance to combustibles) and for gas installations by Gas Safe-registered engineers. We ensure all our work complies with these regulations.
